I like..

clothes.

I mean I really like clothes.

I am that crazy girl who will stay up until some stupid hour of the day looking at Tumblr tags and Instagrams just to marvel at the clothes other people wear. I like seeing what people wear, to me it is fascinating. Why did they choose to wear this today, of all days? Are they going to an event, are they just chilling at home? Granted, some Tumblr photos are mainly of grungey models doing some sort of 'I don't give a shit' pose usually with a cigarette or bottle of Jack Daniels in their hands, wearing denim and Dr Martins. But, these awfully posed photos are what really inspire me.

If you type in grunge or 'soft grunge' (whatever that means) or just look through 'tropical' tags on instagram you see all these gorgeously dressed up girls that are dressed so casually its makes you relaxed just seeing them. I know full well that some of these styles I cannot and will not pull of, and yes, sometimes I am staring at these girls in envy of their perfectly toned stomachs and natural faces but that's what girls do I think. It's poisonous.

Upsettingly, I will never pull off a halter-neck. This issue really stumps me when I am feeling particularly 2000's and very girl band-esque. Similarly, I cannot really pull of things that have a high neck, although I haven't tried recently. And I also have this huge hatred toward my arms, because they're quite large and alongside my broad shoulders and large bust I am very conscious that it may make me look like an American Football player that doesn't actually need shoulder pads.

For Christmas, I obtained some Dr Martins of my own which I fell in love with at first sight despite the pain they cause me. I love these boots. They will be a staple piece from my wardrobe, 100 percent. The thing is that big clumpy shoes like these is what defines my style. My mother doesn't understand why I will not wear sandals. She also doesn't really see the appeal in wearing a dainty dress and finishing it off with some huge boots or shoes, She believes dainty dresses should be warn with pretty shoes and big clumpy shoes should be for when I am dressing like a boy. But that's one of the few things that separates me and my mother, style.

I definitely have a style, I think everyone does. It may not necessarily have a label but you have a style. When you are shopping certain things take your eye and others don't. The things that take your eye, no matter how different, is your style, I think. Also, I think you can tell a lot about a person by what their "go-to" or 'staple' outfit is. Mine is some sort of band tee/oversized shirt and skinny jeans (ripped is optional) and black or white converse (now Dr Martins). I think this says a lot about me as a person. The first time I showed up at work and I wasn't wearing uniform, I was wearing ripped skinny jeans (black of course) and a The Beatles shirt, a oversized denim jacket and black high top shoes. The first thing said to me was "I didn't think you'd dress like this" and that shocks me. I don't look girly, although I am very femine, and I am a smart ass sarcastic bitch so I thought my look suited me well. But then again, they barely knew me.

Maybe I confused my colleagues because I have a knack for looking and acting like a shy girl that likes flowers and wants to be 10 again and then in 0.0001% of a second changing to a 'I don't actually care what anyone thinks or says can you please leave' attitude and wanting to accommodate that with jeans, a shirt and nirvana playing loudly.

Did I receive any clothes at Christmas? No, because I am possibly the hardest girl to shop for clothes as you can never be too sure that I would actually wear that ever, you may think you're certain I would but I am so particular, it's literally 50/50 all the time.

Good luck on buying me clothes world, because, if you hadn't already been bored out of you're head and actually made it this far on this very spontaneous late at night post inspired by IT by Alexa Chung the style princess of my life (Bridgette Bardot is queen), I am very complicated.

Autumn/Winter 2014/15

As some may know, London Fashion Week has been with us now, and its now Bristol Fashion Week and considering I live in Bristol, I feel that it is the perfect time to show the world what I think of the pieces that came out of the catwalks across the globe recently.
Vogue have been delightful enough to put up there A-Z of AW14 which is really useful if you want to know about this seasons trends but you don't really wanna sift through thousands of clothing pieces from various designers. So, check that out.

As we all know, the catwalk clothing isn't always 'easy' to wear or practical, however it does influence what high street stores and designers put out there. This AW14, the trends and ideas have been a little different to what we are used to with Autumn/Fall. There are less burgundy and natural colours from the designers as they have gone for more risky prints and bright colours.

So the prints that we have seen from the catwalk this season are plentiful. Designers have been playing vigorously with various prints and colours and it is lovely.
Mary Katrantzou
This print may seem like too much for Autumn, but I really think that these over-embellished prints could really work for the upcoming party season. Also, because there is so much happening on the dress, with all the various tones and colours, there would be no need to accessorise. With prints like this just pair with some simple heels and you'd look amazing.

 Christian Dior
Now, these colours scream 'SUMMER' to me, but why not mix it up a little this year?! Obviously Dior had the exact same thought when he thought about this little number. Prada and Miu Miu have also been pushing the colour boundries this season too.

Celine
This seems perfect for Christmas doesn't it? Studs was the pinnacle of last years trends, so change studs to jewels and you look 100x more festive. If you didn't want to go so jeweled, take a not from Dolce & Gabbana's book and go for encrusted hoods!

 Mathew Williamson
For all you budding astrologists out there, we have the perfect print for you straight from the catwalk. This unique print is awesome and might be able to give you that pop of colour you need to dress up an outfit.

To contrast these somewhat different colours for Autumn, Mulberry did bring in some lovely Autumnal knitted patterns on their show with Cara Delevingne sporting some lovely colours that look mega cosy.

Even adding in some new patterns which may rock the high street stores this season, such as leopard print! The colours are absolutely gorgeous this season though!

Now, on to shoes. Apparently, according to Vogue, lace ups are going to be the new style for shoes this Autumn/Winter. I'm excited to see how different places interpret the new style for the colder months and make them wearable and not too cold.

Emilio Pucci

Also, i'm excited to finally hit the season of wearing capes instead of coats. I like the idea of capes because they are a bit different but in a sort of understated way. Also, you will look more elegant in a cape, and if you're a bit self-conscious like me, you can hide yourself within them. (Although, you shouldn't want to hide yourself because you're beautiful!)

Valentino
This cape is gorgeous from Valentino, and I absolutely adore the print of butterflies over it. I think the colours of the butterflies really allows you to stand out in it without being too OTT. It's slightly Red Riding Hood style with the amazing hood and you'll look so beautiful walking down the street with this little number on, or with any cape on for that matter. I'm definitely going to try and find one. Probably not Valentino though.. I'm not made of money.

That was my run down of what Vogue said came out of the runways this AW14. I'm going to do a bit of spending this weekend as I am going to London for a bit so I shall do a haul of what I bought. Also, this is the weekend I am moving house, so please bare with me. You may not get another post this week but hopefully by next week everything will be sorted and life can resume as normal.

Leave your thoughts in the comments.
Love you guys

Acacia Brinely - My thoughts. (trigger warning)

I know people are going to disagree with this post. I am fully aware of that, however, all the hate and gossip on Acacia is starting to irritate me and I would like to voice my opinion. If you don't agree, that's up to you and please don't send me hate because this is only my opinion.

So Acacia has been, for a long while, on the receiving end of relentless hate comments on almost every social network. Now, I myself can't stand hate comments and I don't understand why they are a thing. If you don't like her, don't associate with her. There is literally no point in writing on her instagram 'You're a wh*re' when she gets thousands of comments, so she is unlikely to see it. By typing that the only people you're upsetting is her fans, which was not you're intention and is completely unnecessary.

The things she gets hate on also is either stuff she has done in the past, which everyone should get over, or her fashion choices. The most common comments on her instagram is someone saying how 'annoying' it is that 'she thinks she's grunge now'. This is basic hate on the fact that 3 years ago, she didn't dress like she does now, and that she is trying to hard to be different. For a start, the way she dresses is actually very common, and isn't very 'indie' or 'unique' at all. How unique can the colour black be exactly?
Yes I agree that she has changed, going by her sense of style, but EVERYONE DOES THAT. I don't think that's a valid reason to hate her. I am 18 now, and I don't dress the same way I did when I was 15/16! That's called growing up, which is something some of these 'haters' need to do also. People also moan because she wears band tshirts, and people assume that because she didn't used to wear them that she doesn't listen to the bands etc. You can't hate someone based on an assumption. That makes you seem silly, not her. If you look at her spotify the bands on there are not really chart groups, and if you think she is just forcing herself to like them then that's okay, you think that. But, you don't know that she doesn't like them. If you look at my spotify, I have music ranging from 90's pop to Nirvana and i'm not being fake.

Also, she is lucky. She is lucky to have friends in the celebrity world and yes, you may believe that she's just doing this to feed of their fame, which, considering I don't know her could be true. However, she could just be lucky and get herself in the right places at the right time. She worked at the TCAs, and was ushering celebrities on and off stage which shows that she was lucky enough to get that job which obviously gets you closer to celebrities. If you had the opportunity to work  at an awards show where lots of your favourite celebrities will be, then you probably will take up the opportunity, as she did.

Also, if you're referring to her being friends with some celebrities like 5 Seconds Of Summer, there must be a reason they are friends. If she does text Michael Clifford (for example) then there must be a reason that he gave her his number. If he can see something friend-worthy in her then she cant be all bad can she. Yes, it must be annoying that she seems to 'jump from fandom to fandom' but I doubt that gives anyone the right to tell her to die and stuff. That's just wrong.

Now, the two more serious subjects, her nudes and self harm. I am going to start with the self harm accusations. I've put a trigger warning in the title because I don't want anyone to suffer because of this post, because that's not fair and I want you all to stay strong.
Acacia has been accused of faking self harm, and as one person put it she 'dug her nails into her own skin' and 'scratched herself'. Now, I know this may upset those who self harm as they may feel like she's 'scratching' because she wants 'attention' but doesn't want to hurt herself too badly. However, I feel like even if she is only scratching herself, that is still self harm. There isn't a specific way to self harm, and I don't think people understand that. It may not be a blade to the wrist or burns etc but she is still hurting herself and regardless of the reason behind it, it is still a serious issue. Scratching herself is not 'faking self harm' its self harm. She is hurting herself and that may be due to the piles and piles of hates she gets, we don't know because only she knows whats on her mind but nobody should be told that what they are doing 'doesn't count at self harm' because something may really be affecting her.

Her nudes are the most poignant of all things related to Acacia. We know people send nudes even though we are repeatedly told that we shouldn't because who knows who would have hold of them at some point. However, when you're in your teenage years you're a little more naive and tend to think you know best. Acacia obviously thought that she could trust who she was sending her nudes to at this point. I don't know the full story behind who she sent it to etc but if it was a boyfriend then you would assume you could trust them. We all know it is a bad idea to send those sort of pictures, and she probably regrets it and cant believe how stupid she was. But that's life, we all make mistakes, some bigger than others. Acacia is not the only person in the world to have her nudes leaked, you've got role models like Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lawrence also Blake Lively and Leighton Meester but they don't get the amount of hate on their nudes as Acacia does. People on twitter were actually marveling at Jennifer Lawrence's nudes. I am not giving Acacia any excuses for her actions as they were wrong but she has admitted to them and its in the past and there isn't much else she can do to correct them. It would make the world a better place if people learnt to just move on.

Disclaimer I know i'm British and you may not think that i know enough to have an opinion but i go on social network as much as anyone and i don't like to witness cyber-bullying.
Also, in no way whatsoever am i trying to justify the things Acacia has done but I am trying to be the unbiased middle man and just put things into perspective. The amount of hate the Acacia receives daily can be classed as bullying and i don't want to see that happen anywhere as nobody deserves that.

Sorry it was a bit of a rant today, but i'll make a happier more upbeat post shortly. If you have any opinions or thoughts, i'm happy to here them. Like i said, lets try to keep all hate to a minimum and just accept that people have apposing opinions. If you really don't like what i have said, just move of this post. I have lots of other lovely posts to look at so enjoy!

I hope you're all having a splendid week, even though everyone back to school (i feel sorry for you guys)! Stay strong, stay happy and stay alive! I love you!

Kawaii and Soft Grunge

So, I've got myself into soft grunge blogs and kawaii.

At first i didn't really think soft grunge existed but I guess it does actually. It's more like a style rather than a music genre though I think. Although I could be wrong. And Kawaii is possibly some of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life and i'm slowly falling in love with it and wanting to draw Kawaii cartoons and be all cutesy and aw. However, I am not very cutesy and angelic but I think I can still look at Kawaii stuff and just draw it. I don't think i'll will ever dress in a 'Kawaii style' but ah well.

I just wanted to share these pictures anyway. I got them straight of google images as I was looking for new wallpapers for my laptop. I don't know who created these but I am in love so thank you to those artists because it's amazing and makes me really want to go to Japan and look at all there cutesy stuff.

So, some of these are from Deviantart and Tumblr, so if you know the blogs they come from let me know, so I can credit them, and also follow them!

Anyway, I thought I'd better post something, so I thought I would share my love for these images with you guys!

Lots of love

Russell Howard: Wonderbox

So, I went and saw Russell Howard live in the Bristol Hippodrome on the 13th of August, as I mentioned in my last post. But I didn't really talk much about it.

So, as I said my boyfriend got me tickets for Christmas last year which was lovely. I really enjoy Russell Howard's comedy and he is from around my area which makes him a little more special to me. I don't know how old you had to be to watch him live, but his jokes were slightly adult in humour but that is his style and its perfect to me.

The bonus of watching him in a place like the hippodrome is that it is small, so irregardless of where you sit, you always have a good view and you don't have to watch on a huge tv screen which kind of spoils the 'live' idea really, because I could have got a better view at home. I don't really see the point in watching things like comedy in huge arenas because you're so far away from the act there is literally no point. However, I understand people wanting to be there for the atmosphere, but I don't really think there is much of an exciting atmosphere for comedy as there may be for music. People may disagree, but I just don't think it's the same. I digress.

Of course the prices of food and drink were ridiculously over-priced just as much as the merchandise was, but I think you should expect that from going to a gig. That's just what it's like. Even though the prices were so high any normal person would scream and pack food and drink before hand, I managed to buy a few things. To be honest, I personally only spent £20, which was on the Russell Howard Wonderbox tee.

Yes, it is a well made t-shirt but I hardly think it is worth £20. I bought it anyway because to be honest, I am not going to buy it anywhere else and it was just to commemorate the evening, so I reasoned with my spending. Tim, my boyfriend, spent the most money, as he said it was my Christmas present so he insisted. He only bought me two things, but it did come to a grand total of £15.70. Yes, two things. Those two things were; 1 programme for the show and 1 archers and lemonade. The programme was £10 and the drink was £5.70! That is very pricey but ah well, I didn't pay did I. *sniggers*

Russell said that the name 'Wonderbox' has German origin where they used to keep a box with lots of memorable moments and stories in it to share with generations and even the world. He named his show 'Wonderbox', as he ended (much like on Good News) with a heart warming story of a boy who Russell met who was losing his fight with cancer and invited Russell to his wedding, but making sure he only wore the penis costume (Mr Dildo) from one of his episodes. But, the boy made a miraculous recovery and Russell invited him on stage wearing the penis costume. The boy looked wonderfully healthy and it was nice that he had become friends with one of his favourite comedians. Also, everyone clapped for a long while in the hippodrome for the boy, and the fact that Russell went on request to see this dying child makes me regain faith in humanity during all this conflict and sadness all across the world.

Overall, I had one of the best times watching Russell Howard perform that night and he is just as good on TV as he is in real life. It's now an awesome feeling when I watch him on TV as I have seen him so close in Bristol. He is my favourite comedian and it's a shame I couldn't tell him that he means a lot to me. I really want to thank my awesome boyfriend for giving me the ticket for that night as it was one of the best/funniest nights of my life and I doubt I shall ever forget it.

Thanks for reading!

CRAZY SUMMER TIMES

Hello there my lovely lovely readers!

How are we all? Swell.
As you can tell from my capitalized title, at the moment my life is a little crazy, but also very exciting. I've done some cool things and I have some cool things coming up so I'm so excited to share them with you, because, you know, you're damn awesome!

First things first i'm the realest, on Tuesday 12th I went to Argos and bought myself a laptop with mum. It was already on offer, and as I work there I did get an employee discount, which made it lovely and cheap cheaper than it would have been. This has been a huge asset to my life, and now I will be writing more on here and posting more photos, because I have a wide screen webcam which is actually alright quality. I haven't had my own proper working laptop for a while before which was a nightmare in sixth form but I made it through. Ironically, I'm now not in education at all (didn't end up going to uni, more about that soon) and I have a laptop.. but that just gives me more opportunities to write which is exciting. I really like Windows 8 too, even though I was somewhat sceptical because a lot of people had been moaning about it but I quite like it.

The following Wednesday, I went to see Russell Howard: Wonderbox live at the Bristol Hippodrome, with that boyfriend of mine, Tim. It was actually amazing and I absolutely loved it. I knew I would love it because I absolutely adore Russell Howard because he's from Bristol and so funny! He's also quite good looking too, just sayin. I bought a new t-shirt to commemorate the evening as well, it was obviously merchandise meaning it was ridiculously overprice for what it was, but it is a really nice top and it fits me well, which is great. Probably one of the best ways to get my mind of my A Level results that were due the following day.

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday. RESULTS DAY. The day when so many 18 year old's across the UK either do or do not get into Uni and it usually involves a lot of crying and alcohol.
Luckily for me, I didn't really have a passionate NEED to get into university, and I only really applied to have the experience as still don't think i'm sure what I want for a career. So when I logged on to the UCAS website and found out that I wasn't accepted into my first choice university, I wasn't really shocked nor sad. It was more of an 'well that makes sense' as I kind of new that I wasn't going to get the grades I needed because I wasn't THAT great at A Levels and found it really hard to revise and remember piles and piles of information. Saying that, I did get CDD in my three A Levels I took which I was quite pleased with, although I think I would've liked a higher grade than a C in English Language as that was the one subject I knew. Clearly, I don't perform well in exam conditions anyway and with the ex-education secretary, Michael Gove, ruining my A Levels for me half way through them I think I did alright. Now, I'm just on a hunt for a full time job, which is full of exciting possibilities.

During my entire summer, also, I manages to get horrendous bites all over my ankles and they were infected and one made my entire foot swell up and it was gross. The scarring will now live with me for ever.  If you are faint hearted and of a nervous disposition, look away now.

These are my ankles at their worsts. As you can see the left ankle was a lot worse and I could barely walk on it. It was so painful. The ones on my right ankle were just itchy. I know this was the only photos on this relatively lengthy mass of words and I know they aren't the most beautiful of pictures, but I thought i'd share my hell not really i survived but yeah and the damage bloomin' insects can cause!

That's just an update on my life so far and I shall talk to you guys again soon!
Love you all
MWAH

Apologies

So, I'm back everyone!
I was being lazy and uninspired to write on my blog and I had a-levels to finish and work so I've just been a bit mad, but now we are in the middle of summer and I'm going to get this whole thing going again I promise! Really want to tell people things so this is the best way to do it, I think.
So, Thursday is A-Level results day and even though I'm nervous for it (although I am an anxious person) I don't really mind the outcome. I'm not horrendously desperate to to to uni, so if I'm not accepted to UWE I shan't be going! Which in my mind isn't a big deal because I know I tried my hardest and revised like mad so what else can I do? Obviously, if I don't get to UWE then I'm not cut out for uni so I'll just look for awesome jobs! There's always a silver lining.
Tomorrow I'm buying a laptop so hopefully I'll be blogging more than before! I shall probably also work on my tumblr and try and get more of you following this blog, because I know right now it's really bland but it'll get livelier I promise!
I'll tell you what I may do on this page soon!
1) if I get into uni I will do a sort of room tour and let you know about my first weeks.
2) if not I'll be going shopping soon so I'll do some more hauls and things for you!
3) I'm seeing Russell Howard live on Wednesday with my boyfriend so that should be exciting!
4) also in September I'll be going to an NFL game with my boyfriend because he's really into it! Which I'm very excited for because who knows what it will entail!
5) I've got my friends 19th birthday party on the 23rd so I'll talk about that!
6) Finally I'll probably do some more tag posts so you can get to know me because they seem like fun! As soon as I get my laptop by posts will be better because I will add photos and things!

Let your friends know about my blog people!

Lots of love for you!
Stay tuned!
